The Difficult First Step

Procrastination is one of the greatest detriment to efficiency. You know you are supposed to be working, but you spend your time doing other non-constructive activities like watching TV, sleeping, browsing through social networking sites etc.

We are generally unable to pull ourselves out of this stupor to go and do our work. One of the biggest cause of this laziness is lack of will power. But one must realize that its only the first step which is difficult - finding the remote to switch off the TV, taking your first step out of bed on a chilly winter morning, taking the first dip into the cold swimming pool water - this is the most difficult part. Once you do it, once you have successfully taken your first step, you are then able to focus your mind and get on with more important activities. Will power is something which is difficult to increase overnight. But its very important that we do try and take that difficult first step. Only then shall we come out of our lazy stupor.
As a certain Navjot Singh Sidhu says, "Its all about getting the first kiss. The rest come easy."
All the best!
